The Second Magazine

It is time to share the second Creative Lifestyle Magazine with you… In this issue we focused on creative professions, working with ones passion and textiles.

Though you might not understand the Danish words, I hope it will bring some inspiration or entertainment reading the translated part and just scrolling through the images which consists of a photo shoot we made with a Danish Designer creating art and garments of silk, ourselves printing on textiles and our own redesign of a bedroom.

As I did last time when I posted Creative Lifestyle Magazine number 1 – I have once again tried to translate the introduction in the magazine:

A Creative Lifestyle

According to Elizabeth Gilbert (author of the books “Big Magic” and “Eat Pray Love”), it is sometimes a necessity to stick to the work that brings bread on the table. If you start to depend on creativity to provide, you risk that being creative can become a burden. We know it from the suffering artists, but creativity shouldn’t be hard – it should be fun and rewarding.

We don’t believe that everyone should quit their current job if it is not creative.
You can easily have a creative lifestyle without making a living from a creative profession.
The most important thing is that you give yourself time to do something you love. To enjoy. To be inspired.

Being in the moment and immersing yourself. Charging yourself with energy.

However, we cannot help but be inspired by those who do what they want most and make a living from it. Those who do not see their work as work because it is so rewarding in itself and despite the boring tasks that will always be there.
Therefore, in this edition of Kreativ Livsstil Magasin, we have interviewed three self-employed people in textiles and yoga, which we also believe will inspire you to a more creative lifestyle.

Through our company “Kreativ Livsstil I/S” we ourselves work on being inspired and moving closer to the creative lifestyle we dream of.

Trine:

One of the steps I have taken this year is to move to Mols. Now I am closer to the workshop, nature and my creative partner. I have also applied to the Master’s program in Educational Psychology and quit my job in the nursery from August, without yet knowing if I will get in. I need to learn more and develop and I don’t want to do anything half-heartedly. I’m not afraid of not getting accepted by the University, because then that’s just not what I need to develop and I know I’ll find another way. Then I have to be creative. I am excited and looking forward to what the future holds. During the time I was growing up, when my mother (Gitte) and I lived alone, we drew angel cards for our day. We are not particularly spiritual, but it was nice to have some words with us for the day. Recently I drew cards again and these are the words I take with me to the next chapter of my life:

  • Nothing is impossible
  • Peace and harmony

We want to be nourished. We want to be creative – and we want to share it with you.
